The Media Hunt Experiment
How It Started?
We have decided to run a marketing campaign which we are calling “The Media Hunt Experiment“. We always know that if we (read sukip) get covered in media, it would give us a great push. But we don’t have the money to make advertisements.
So either we wait for sukip to grow so that these guys wake up and cover us or we do something crazy. We decided to go ahead as we had nothing to loose.
The IDEA
We will find addresses of all major newspapers, TV channels, magazines and radio channels. Then we will fire them mails (snail mails) asking them to cover us. We will send 2 mails to every address, firstly a informal mail (going by our guts) and secondly, a formal mail after a month. We will also send emails to all the email ids we can find. We have decided to cover every part of this campaign here on this blog.
The GOAL
If we get a response from even one newspaper, TV channel, magazine or radio channel, we are done. So the goal is one (preferably more) interview call.
The End Product
After 3 days of searching through yellow-pages and many hours of googling, it was complete. There was a total of 36 letters - stuffed, sealed, stamped, and ready to go to different parts of the country. All the mails are fired on 6 June 2007. Now what is left is wait for a reply (or two)…

I couldn’t understand some parts of this article The Media Hunt Experiment, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
